About

History

Upon A Dream was founded by Janae Trotter, a girl who has been playing princess since she could walk and talk, and teaching theatre and dance since she was in high school. Janae holds an associate’s degree in Acting, and has taught theatre and dance locally at Trilogy Cultural Arts Center, Stage Right Performing Arts, and CYT KC. The “princess-ing,” as we call it, began as roles in musicals and simply progressed until Upon A Dream was founded in September of 2014.   We have grown from two princesses to seven, and are continuing to grow as princess demand increases.

After working with Janae for over a year, Madeline Clem became the new owner of Upon a Dream in June of 2018. With a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theatre, Madeline’s passion is lifting characters off the storybook pages and bringing them to life! When she is not “princess-ing”, she performs in the All Hands on Deck! Show, a traveling USO style 1940’s tribute show.

All of the princess performers at Upon A Dream are hand-picked to provide not only a fun event for your child, but also to uphold integrity in everything they do. If there’s one thing we love most, it’s seeing the faces of each child when their favorite princess shows up at their door, ready to play!

Our Parties

We believe that parties should be fun for the kids AND adults, so for the duration that the princess is there, parents can feel free to sit back and just enjoy the fun.  We bring music, games, and provide options of princess face painting and party favors. Guests will learn from the professionals how to be a prince or princess, take photos with the princess, dance and sing to their favorite songs, and play games based on imagination and fun.
